MANILA, Philippines —Reelectionist Senator Grace Poe on Tuesday kicked off the first day of the campaign period with school children in a feeding program in Payatas, Quezon City, unaccompanied by other candidates running for the midterm elections.

Poe, who has been a consistent frontrunner in the pre-election senatorial surveys, is seeking reelection as an independent candidate in the upcoming midterm polls.
