A 39-year-old businessman was gunned down by three unidentified assailants while he was on his way to his house in Caloocan City on Thursday.
Lawrence Ignacio Segui was shot in the head moments after he parked his car as he was walking to his house on Tambakan Street, Barangay 34, around 9 p.m. He died immediately.
Chief Inspector Rodrigo Soriano, chief of the Caloocan’s police investigation unit, said witnesses saw three people, two of them men and one a female, approach the victim.
The assailants reportedly took the bag of the victim containing three mobile phones and P6,000 in cash.
“We have not yet been able to establish the motive, although the missing valuables could indicate that it was robbery. We are still looking into other angles,” Soriano said.
The Seguis own a small shop that makes lumpia wrappers, while the victim’s father used to be chairman of a cooperative in Malabon City, leading police to believe that the motive could be related to the family business.
