PAGADIAN CITY — A village chief was gunned down in Labangan town, Zamboanga del Sur Friday morning.
Inspector Fernando Ordeniza, Labangan police chief, said Gavino Bacor Lacsado Jr., San Isidro village chief, was driving his motorcycle on his way home when two unidentified men on a motorcycle shot him as he reached New Labangan village in the same town.
Lacsado was hit in the head. Police rushed him to the Aisah Hospital in Pagadian City, but he was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician.
The gunmen reportedly fled towards Upper Pulacan village after the incident.
Investigators recovered two fired cartridge case of caliber. 45 pistols. /ee
