Kidapawan ex-village official nabbed for gun, shabu

KIDAPAWAN CITY – A former village councilman was arrested for illegal possession of firearms and possession of illegal drugs in Barangay Amazon here on Thursday, February 7.

Director Naravy Duiquiatan, of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Region 12, said their operatives backed by Kidapawan City police, served a search warrant for Rustico Lobetania, 40, a resident of Barangay Amazon around 3 a.m. Lobetania did not resist arrest.

A local court issued the search warrant against the suspect for violation of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, and Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Seized from the former village official was an unlicensed cal. 38 revolver with six ammunition and 13 sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride. Lobetania is now detained at the Kidapawan City jail. /kga
