Tricycle driver dead, 2 passengers hurt in Quezon road mishap

LUCENA CITY – A tricycle driver died and his two passengers were injured in a road accident in General Luna town in Quezon province Wednesday night, police said.

A report from the Quezon police said Wenifredo Medina, 63, was driving his tricycle with passengers Jay-R Rodelas and Willie Rejano, when their vehicle collided head-on with an oncoming truck in Barangay (village) San Isidro at 7:40 p.m.

Medina suffered fatal injuries and died on the spot. His two passengers, who were also seriously injured, were taken to the town’s rural health unit for emergency treatment and later transferred to Gumaca District Hospital.
