Bicol fugitive collared in QC

MANILA, Philippines – A homicide suspect was arrested at a bus terminal in Quezon City on Tuesday after 15 years in hiding.

The Philippine National Police – Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP – CIDG) said Mark Morano allegedly stabbed to death a certain Jericho John Serrano Villar in Naga City in 2003.

Informants tipped off the police on the presence of a fugitive working at a bus terminal in Cubao, Quezon City.

Morano yielded a false identification card bearing the name Archie Zaldivar.

The father of Villar, however, positively identified Morano as the man who stabbed his son.

Police said the crime happened in a restaurant where a brawl among customers erupted.

Morano allegedly grabbed a knife and stabbed Villar.

The Naga City Police has pursued the case against Morano, who, however, fled.

Morano was brought to the PNP-CIDG office in Camp Crame following his arrest.
