Clouds expected as PH rings in Chinese New Year

Clouds expected as Chinese New Year rings in

MANILA, Philippines – Partly cloudy to cloudy skies are expected over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon on Tuesday, the Chinese New Year, the weather bureau said Tuesday.

The northeast monsoon will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rain over the regions of the Cordillera Administrative Region and Bicol, and over the provinces Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora and Quezon.

Partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers will also be experienced over the Visayas and Mindanao due to localized thunderstorms.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) warned residents of possible flash floods during severe thunderstorms.

The eastern sections of the Visayas and Mindanao will also have moderate to occasionally strong winds from the northeast, and coastal waters are expected be moderate to rough.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country will have light to moderate winds from the northeast to east with slight to moderate coastal waters. /cbb
