MANILA, Philippines — A 15-year-old minor allegedly stabbed a Grade 11 student in Malabon City, shortly after the suspect allegedly lost their fistfight Sunday night.
The Malabon City Police reported Monday that alias “Tambol” and the 16-year-old victim had a fight at around 11 p.m but the suspect apparently lost in the duel.
Police said they both went home for a while but the suspect challenged the victim again for a second round at around 11:45 p.m., where the stabbing incident allegedly happened.
Tambol reportedly stabbed the victim twice in the back, which was witnessed by two friends of the victim present during the crime, according to police.
The victim was rushed to Tondo Medical Center. Tambol, meanwhile, immediately escaped after the incident, Senior Supt. Jessie Tamayao, commander of the Malabon City Police Station, told INQUIRER.net.
He said the two minors, who were reportedly friends, allegedly fought over a personal issue.
Tamayao said parents of the victim also visited their station and said they are not willing to face charges against the suspect.
He said however that police will continue to launch manhunt operation against the suspect. /je
