CA confirms appointment of 7 DFA officials

MANILA, Philippines – The Commission on Appointments (CA) on Wednesday confirmed the appointments and nominations of seven senior officials of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

As chairman of the CA’s committee on foreign affairs, Senator Panfilo Lacson said during the plenary session that the DFA officials are “fit and qualified”.

1.) Leah Basinang-Ruiz as Ambassador to the Republic of Poland (with concurrent jurisdiction over Ukraine, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania)

2.) Alex Garcia Chua – Ambassador to Republic of Kenya (with concurrent jurisdiction over Burundi, Union of the Comoros, Congo, Malawi, Rwanda, Federal Republic of Somalia, United Republic of Tanzania, Republic of Uganda and South Sudan, and as permanent representative to the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP) and United Nations Human Settlements (UN-Habitat)

3.) Ma. Theresa B. Dizon-Devega – Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany

4.) Raul Salavaria Hernandez – Ambassador to the Republic of Turkey (with concurrent jurisidiction over Georgia and the Republic of Azerbaijan.

5.) Leo Herrera-Lim – Ambassador to the Kingdom of Denmark
