Thief stabs victim

A 24-YEAR-OLD man was injured when he fought off a thief in barangay Cogon Ramos, Cebu City, at dawn yesterday.

Jack Daniel Ombio sustained stab wounds in the body.

Police said Ombio was waiting for a ride home on Pelaex Extension Street when a man tried to grab his clutch bag.

Ombio resisted.

During the scuffle, the thief drew a knife and stabbed Ombio then fled empty-handed.

A wounded Ombio went to Camp Sergio Osmeña in Osmeña Boulevard and sought help from the police.

He was taken to a private hospital in Cebu City.

Police said Ombio failed to describe the face of the thief since the area where the incident happened was dark. CORRESPONDENT RHEA RUTH V. ROSELL
