Duterte reappoints Joel Maglunsod months after he fired him
MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte has reappointed former labor undersecretary Joel Maglunsod to the National Maritime Polytechnic under the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
Duterte signed Maglunsod’s appointment as Executive Director III on January 25.
The President fired Maglunsod last October.

“Joel Maglunsod pinaalis ko. Pinagbigyan ko sila noong bago ako,” Duterte said in a speech in Camp Juan Ponce Sumuroy in Catarman, Northern Samar.
The Chief Executive did not provide details why he fired Maglunsod.
Maglunsod was among the left-leaning officials appointed by Duterte to his Cabinet to boost the peace process between the government and the communist rebels. /je
