Cops nab tricycle driver linked to seized ‘shabu’ in Clark
CAMP GEN. ALEJO SANTOS, BULACAN——Authorities arrested a tricycle driver who was allegedly the recipient of P6.2 million worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) shipped from the United States during a controlled delivery operation at his house in Hagonoy town Friday.
Senior Supt. Chito Bersaluna, Bulacan police director, said Jeffrey Sampson, 36, a resident of Barangay (village) San Jose, Hagonoy, was arrested about 2 p.m. in an operation by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Central Luzon, Bureau of Customs and Bulacan police.
Bersaluna said they were investigating how Sampson became the recipient of a multi-million worth of illegal drugs.
Investigators said the contraband was placed inside a vacuum-sealed plastic that came from Las Vegas and was shipped through United Parcel Service that was addressed to Samson.
The contraband was concealed in elongated tin cans of chocolate wafers, police said.
Authorities earlier seized the contraband and other similar shipments in Clark, Bersaluna said.
