Duterte again hints about sacking DAR officials

MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte on Wednesday hinted at possibly firing Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) officials again as he lamented the delayed processing of land conversion documents.

Duterte made the announcement just a day after warning DAR officials involved in the land conversion processing to shape up or face dismissal.

“Ito may susunod ito bukas,” Duterte said in a speech before tricycle operators and drivers in Pasay City.

The President, however, did not identify who will be next to receive the boot.

Duterte said he found it unacceptable that it took DAR officials two years to process the conversion request of an agricultural land to commercial use, saying there was probably corruption involved.

“Abutan ng dalawang taon? Pu*******, umalis kayo diyan,” Duterte said.

“Sabi ko kung nakikinig sila ngayon, maghanap ka ng ibang trabaho kung hindi i-assign kita sa Jolo. Sasabihin ko na lang sa mga Abu Sayyaf kidnapin n’yo,” he added. /kga
