JAKARTA — The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has reported that a 6.7-magnitude earthquake jolted East Nusa Tenggara’s West Sumba again on Tuesday at 1:59 p.m. local time.
A few hours before, the area experienced at least three smaller earthquakes.
The first was a 6-magnitude earthquake at 6:59 a.m. on Tuesday morning, followed by two aftershocks of a 5.2 magnitude and 3.2 magnitude about an hour later.
The 6.7-magnitude earthquake’s epicenter was located at sea, 120 kilometers southwest of Waikabubak in West Sumba, at a depth of 10 km.
