1,467 families flee homes in Camarines Sur as ‘Amang’ dumps more rains

PILI, Camarines Sur—At least 1,467 families (5,297 individuals) were forced to evacuate from their homes in Camarines Sur on Monday as Tropical Depression “Amang” dumped more rains in the Bicol region.

The Camarines Sur Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (PDRRMC) said families living in flood- and landslide-prone areas were asked to leave their homes temporarily and stay in village halls and elementary schools for their safety.

These include the towns of Pasacao, Milaor, Camaligan, Lagonoy, Presentacion, Buhi, Baao and Nabua.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration said moderate to heavy rains would prevail over Eastern Visayas and Bicol Region until Tuesday.
