Drug suspect dead in Batangas; 3 held in Cavite buy-busts

SAN PEDRO CITY – A suspected illegal drug pusher was killed in a buy-bust operation in Lipa City in Batangas province on Thursday.

A Batangas police report said policemen conducted the buy-bust in Barangay (village) Lodlod in Lipa City past midnight Thursday.

Wilfredo Timola, 22, and a resident of Barangay Osorio in Dasmariñas City, Cavite, sold a sachet of suspected “shabu” (crystal meth) to Police Officer 3 Randy Alpapara, who posed as buyer.

But during their transaction, Timola allegedly drew out a gun from his waist and shot Alpapara. Timola missed but this forced the police officer to return fire.

Timola died on the way to the Lipa City District Hospital.

In Cavite, three suspected drug dealers were arrested in a buy-bust in Barangay San Francisco, General Trias City around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.

City police chief Supt. Paul Bometivo, in a report, identified the suspects as Neil Renzo Bandahala, Daisy Gonzales, and Victorino Sumilang.

Bometivo said they recovered 11 sachets of suspected drugs from the suspects. MARICAR CINCO/lzb
