MANILA, Philippines — A potential storm is expected to enter the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) on Friday, the weather bureau said.
The low pressure area was sighted 2,885 kilometers east-southeast of Mindanao, weather specialist Ariel Rojas said on Tuesday.
While still a LPA, the weather disturbance may gather strength at sea ahead of its entry into the PAR. It will be locally named “Amang” if it intensifies into a tropical depression within PAR.
Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon continues to affect Luzon and the Visayas. Fair weather with isolated light rain is expected in these areas.
Isolated rain due to localized thunderstorms is forecast in Mindanao. /cbb
