Pagasa watching LPA outside PAR

MANILA, Philippines — A potential storm is expected to enter the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) on Friday, the weather bureau said.

The low pressure area was sighted 2,885 kilometers east-southeast of Mindanao, weather specialist Ariel Rojas said on Tuesday.

While still a LPA, the weather disturbance may gather strength at sea ahead of its entry into the PAR. It will be locally named “Amang” if it intensifies into a tropical depression within PAR.
