Cops seize 10 sachets of ‘shabu’ from slain ‘pusher’ in Laguna buy-bust
SAN PEDRO CITY – A suspected illegal drug peddler was killed in a police operation that yielded at least 10 sachets of suspected “shabu” (crystal meth) in Biñan City in Laguna province on Monday.
Laguna police director Sr. Supt. Eleazar Matta, in a text message, said the suspect Limuel Inopre, alias “Tarzan,” was the subject of a buy-bust carried out along the railway in Barangay (village) Canlalay around 3:45 a.m. Inopre was in the police’s drug watchlist.
As the operation was ongoing, Matta said Inopre, using his .38 caliber gun, opened fire at policemen, who consequently fired back and killed the suspect.
Over the weekend, two other suspected drug pushers were also killed while 110 were arrested in a 24-hour, simultaneous police operation against drugs and firearms in Laguna.
Matta said part of the weekend operation were 39 buy-bust operations.
The police also recovered five illegal firearms from the suspects, he said. /kga
