ILOILO CITY, Iloilo — Four of the eight Otso Diretso senatorial candidates asked the support of residents in Iloilo City on Friday afternoon as they visited the Iloilo Terminal Market.

Former Deputy Speaker Erin Tañada, human rights lawyer Chel Diokno, civic leader Samira Gutoc, and election lawyer Romulo Macalintal interacted with sellers at the market’s fruits and vegetables and dried goods sections.

Tañada checked on the rice dealers and vegetable stall owners while Diokno and Gutoc talked with the mango vendors. Tañada also explained to shoppers why the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) law is to blame for the high prices of basic commodities.
