MANILA, Philippines — A 4.1-magnitude earthquake struck off Davao Oriental on Thursday early morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology (Phivolcs) said.
In its earthquake bulletin, Phivolcs reported that the temblor hit 149 kilometers (km) Governor Generoso, Davao Oriental, at 6:38 a.m.
The tremor, which was of tectonic origin, was 28 km deep.
Phivolcs said that the earthquake was an aftershock of the 7.2-magnitude quake that hit the area last Dec. 29.
No damage or aftershocks could be expected from the quake, the Phivolcs said. /je
