TACLOBAN CITY -— Three soldiers and two civilians were hurt after the passenger van they were riding on met an accident along Lope de Vega town in Northern Samar.

Injured were Privates Jeffrey Samulde, 27, a resident of Barangay Dale San, Roque, Northern Samar; Kenneth Sagun, 27, and a resident of Nampicuan, Nueva Ecija; and Mark Kevin Frigillana, 26, and a resident of Barangay Echo, Mondragon, also in Northern Samar, according to information reaching the regional headquarters of the Philippine National Police based in Camp Ruperto Kangleon, Palo.

It was learned that the hurt passengers were on board a passenger van marked ‘Turbanada’ driven by Roy Bermejo, 32, bound for Catarman.

But while the vehicle was cruising along Barangay Magsaysay in Lope de Vega, the driver was said to have lost control of the steering wheel which resulted in the vehicle swerving to the side of the road and turning upside down.

The driver and the passengers suffered injuries in different parts of their bodies and were brought to the rural health unit of Lope de Vega for treatment./lzb
