More than 620,000 devotees gather at Quiapo Church

A total of 628,500 devotees of the Black Nazarene  gathered at the Quiapo Church grounds on Wednesday, police said.

The total crowd estimate of the Manila Police District (MPD) was recorded from 1 a.m. to 1 p.m. of Wednesday.


The MPD said that as of 2:36 pm, the “andas” or the Black Nazarene’s carriage was at the Quinta Market.

The carriage started its journey back to the Quiapo Church from the Quirino Grandstand at 5:08 a.m., with five million barefoot devotees joining the procession. /ee
