SAN PEDRO CITY, Philippines – Anti-narcotics agents on Monday said they seized about P3.4 million in suspected “shabu” from two suspected pushers in an operation in Cavite province.
A report from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon (Calabarzon) named the arrested suspects as Salik Sultan, 43, and Diane Datumanong, 51.
In a phone interview Monday, Adrian Alvariño, PDEA director in CALABARZON, said the suspects were alleged members of a Mindanao-based syndicate responsible for the illegal drug supply brought to Metro Manila and nearby provinces.
PDEA agents from CALABARZON and the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao carried out the buy-bust on January 4 in a mall parking lot in Dasmariñas City.
The agents confiscated five plastic bags that contained the alleged drugs with a combined weight of around 500 grams.
Alvariño declined to disclose the suspects’ source of the drugs while an investigation was ongoing. /cbb
