DID YOU KNOW: Philippine Commission on Women

The National Commission on the Role of Filipino Women, the predecessor of the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW), was established on Jan. 7, 1975, under Presidential Decree No. 633 signed by then President Ferdinand Marcos.

It was tasked to act as an advisory body on policies and programs for the advancement of women.

The commission, which was also renamed PCW, holds office on J.P. Laurel Street in San Miguel, Manila. —Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
