MANILA, Philippines — Two weather systems affecting the country on the first weekend of 2019 will bring isolated rain over Luzon and some parts of the Visayas, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Saturday.

According to Pagasa weather specialist Loriedin Dela Cruz, the northeast monsoon or “amihan” will bring isolated light rain over Luzon and some parts of Visayas.

Meanwhile, the tail end of the cold front will bring light to moderate rain over Eastern Visayas and some parts of Mindanao.

Dela Cruz said no storms or low pressure areas are expected to form outside the Philippine area of responsibility in the next 48 hours.  /muf
