Magnitude 4.6 quake hits inland Agusan Del Sur

MANILA, Philippines — A 4.6-magnitude earthquake jolted inland Agusan Del Sur on Tuesday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.

In its earthquake bulletin, Phivolcs reported that the temblor hit 44 kilometers (km) northwest of Prosperidad, Agusan Del Sur, at 12:19 a.m.

The temblor of tectonic origin had a depth of 16 km.

Phivolcs said  Intensity II was felt over Hinatuan, Surigao Del Sur while an Instrumental Intensity I was felt over Gingoog, Misamis Oriental.

No aftershocks or damage could be expected from the temblor, according to the bulletin. /ee
