63-year-old man hit by stray bullet in Pangasinan
DAGUPAN CITY, Philippines — A 63-year-old man was injured by a stray bullet early dawn on Tuesday (Jan. 1) at San Carlos City in Pangasinan, according to Supt. Ferdinand de Asis, San Carlos City police chief.
Police said Rodolfo de Guzman was lighting a firecracker in front of his house in Barangay (village) Turac at 12:03 a.m. when the bullet hit his right forearm.
De Guzman was taken to a hospital, where he underwent surgery to remove the bullet.
De Asis said De Guzman is now out of danger. He said the bullet would be taken to a forensic laboratory for analysis. /muf
