3 hurt in Quezon stabbing incident

LUCENA CITY – A drunken laborer stabbed and wounded three people in Mauban town in Quezon province early Wednesday.

A report from the Quezon police said Ronel Timog, 31, who was under the influence of liquor, had a heated argument with Godfrey Banagan, 30, in Barangay (village) Cagsiay 1 around 1 a.m.

Without any provocation, the suspect stabbed Banagan on his forehead with a kitchen knife, police said.

Two other victims, Wilmer Impreso, 45, and Liza Roldan Banagan, 60, who rushed to help Banagan, were also stabbed by the suspect. Both victims suffered stab wounds in different parts of their bodies.

The victims were taken to Mauban District Hospital for treatment while the suspect was arrested by village watchmen and taken to the local police station. Delfin Mallari Jr./lb
