MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 3.6 earthquake struck off northern Mindoro island at 11:23 a.m., the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said Monday.
In a report, Phivolcs said that the center of the quake was traced at 78 kilometers (km) northwest of Lubang, Occidental Mindoro.
The tremor had a depth of focus of 16 km and of tectonic origin.
Phivolcs further noted that aftershocks and damage could not be expected following the quake.
