KORONADAL CITY — Five persons were killed, two of them children, when a Toyota HiAce van and a Mitsubishi L-300 box type van collided on a highway in Polomolok, South Cotabato Sunday afternoon.

The L-300 van, owned by the Notre Dame of Sienna Polomolok, collided with the HiAce van at about 3 p.m. in Barangay Crossing Palkan, Polomolok, Supt. Aldrin Gonzales said, speaking for the Soccsksargen Police Regional Office.

Two of the victims died on the spot and the rest were declared dead on arrival in a hospital.

Gonzales said traffic investigators were still determining how the accident happened.

The identities of the fatalities were not available as of posting time.
