MANILA, Philippines — She may be called “strict and serious,” but in her last Christmas party in the Senate, Sen. Loren Legarda “let her hair down” as she sang her favorite tunes at a videoke party with her staff.

On Friday, Legarda posted on Instagram a video of her singing her favorite songs — “Kahit Na Maputi Ang Buhok Ko” and “Top of the World.”

“People know me as strict, disciplined and serious but sometimes I just let my hair down. Enjoy my concert!” Legarda said in her post.

Legarda’s staff – some wearing colorful costumes — joined the senator in singing.

The senator said she had a long work day with some of the Senate officers and employees before celebrating the joyous occasion.

“Just funny! I sang my favorite songs after a long work day with these dedicated Senate officers and employees from the Legislative Budget Research and Monitoring Office (LBRMO),” she said.

“Atty. Yoly Doblon, the lady in blue behind me, has helped all finance chairs in the Senate from Neptali Gonzales, John Osmena, Ernesto Maceda, Ed Angara, Ernesto “Boy” Herrera, Manny Villar, Frank Drilon, Juan Ponce Enrile, Chiz Escudero and myself.” she added.

This is Legarda’s last term in the Senate as she will run in 2019 for a seat in the House of Representatives to represent Antique.
