Rape suspect nabbed in Caloocan

MANILA, Philippines — A  jeepney driver, who was wanted for rape, was arrested along EDSA by elements of the Caloocan City Police Station on Thursday morning.

Reports from the Northern Police District (NPD) said that officers from the Warrant and Subpoena Section implemented the warrant of arrest against Villamor Caasi Catalma, 44, from the PNR Compound in Barangay 73, Caloocan City.

Catalma is facing rape charges, under Article 266-A of the Revised Penal Code.  The arrest order was issued by Caloocan City Regional Trial Court Branch 131 Judge Ma. Teresa Alvarez.

He was placed under the custody of Caloocan Police for proper disposition./lb
