Novaliches fire kills 3 people

MANILA, Philippines–A five-year-old child and two others died after a fire gutted a residential-commercial area in Quezon City on Thursday morning.

In a report by the Bureau of Fire Protection investigation office, the fire engulfed three houses in Damong Maliit, Barangay Nagkaisang Nayon in Novaliches, Quezon City.


The victims were identified as John Daniel Arciaga, 5. Arcenia Amongo, 80, and Jose Ilalim, 42.

No other injuries were reported.


The report added that the fire started at 2:50 a.m. and reached the third alarm at 3:05 a.m. The BFP declared fire out at 4:22 a.m.

Authorities continued to investigate the cause of the fire but estimated the damage at P1 million./lb
