A man in Florida, United States was arrested after trying to exchange a baggie of marijuana for food at a drive-thru of a McDonald’s last Sunday, Dec. 16.

The Port St. Lucie Police Department took to their official Facebook account on Dec. 17 where they shared to the community about the man’s arrest, who was identified by various reports as Anthony Gallagher.

Authorities were called to a McDonald’s branch in Port St. Lucie Boulevard at 2 a.m. of Dec. 16 where a worker told them that Gallagher, who was driving a four-door Pontiac, tried to pay for his order with marijuana. He drove off upon the worker’s refusal, but returned a short time later and was caught going through the drive-thru again by the authorities.

“PSLPD officer made contact with the suspect and noticed a heavy odor of marijuana emitting from the car,” they wrote. “Police found approximately 11 grams of marijuana on the suspect.”

Gallagher told authorities he was just joking when he tried to offer marijuana in exchange for food. He, however, was still arrested for possession of marijuana and driving under the influence (DUI). He was also taken to the St. Lucie County Jail for booking. JB
