MANILA, Philippines — “I don’t care whether they believe or not.”
This was how Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) chief Nicanor Faeldon Sr. dismissed negative reactions on the negative result of the drug test done on his son Nicanor Faeldon Jr. after he was arrested during a police raid of an alleged drug den in Naga City, Camarines Sur.
Faeldon’s son was among five others who were arrested by police during raids done in three Naga City barangays on Friday.
The younger Faeldon was residing in the house of his girlfriend, Sanda Mae Lanuzo when the police arrived. His girlfriend was also identified as the daughter of one of the suspects, Russel Lanuzo.

Faeldon said it would surprise him if his son would test positive in the drug test as he stressed that his son does not even smoke.
“I know him, hindi naman siya nagsisisgarilyo. It would shock me if he would turn positive,” he told local radio station, dzbb.
However, shortly after the result of the drug test was revealed, Senior Superintendent Felix Servita Jr., Naga City police director, said that despite the negative test result, the younger Faeldon may still face charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 as the house where he was arrested in was an “identified drug den.”

Amid the ongoing investigation, the older Faeldon stressed that he would not interfere with his son’s case, saying he would also not hire lawyers to defend his son.
“I would not interfere, no. Let him stay there until matapos yung proseso ng investigation. I don’t want any lawyer to help him in the investigation,” he said. /muf
