Bersamin: Social media a waste of time at work

/ 05:43 PM December 14, 2018

Whether big or small, every deed creates an impact on the quality of service that an official gives to the public, Chief Justice Lucas Bersamin said during the Supreme Court’s Christmas party.

Citing the use of social media site Facebook as an example, he said “for every minute that you spend on Facebook or using your cellphone during your official working hours are minutes we lose in performing our duties and that this could be misconstrued by some that the employees of the judiciary are shortchanging the Filipino people who are paying for their salaries.

He said some court employees will have difficulty following his instructions so he reminded them to be like Jesus Christ who humbled Himself and made sacrifices for the world’s salvation.

“He was able to make that sacrifice for His love for his father and His love for us all,” he added. /ee
