Cops arrest North Cotabato town execs during anti-drugs operations
KIDAPAWAN CITY – Anti-narcotics operatives arrested two appointed local officials of President Roxas town in North Cotabato during law enforcement operations on Wednesday, police said.
Chief Supt. Eliseo Tam Rasco, police director for Region 12, said police backed up by soldiers arrested Robert F. Herbilla, municipal secretary and Amelito O. Daquipil, municipal administrative assistant at 5 a.m. Wednesday.
Rasco said members of the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit, backed by soldiers from the 901st Infantry Brigade, served search warrants issued by Judge Alandrex Betoya of Regional Trial Court Branch 16 for violation of the anti-drugs law and illegal possession of firearms.
“They are our high-value targets, we have been conducting surveillance against them the past weeks,” Rasco said in a statement.
Police seized seven sachets of suspected shabu from Herbilla and eight sachets from Daquipil.
