P25M worth of ‘shabu’ seized in Central Visayas
MANILA, Philippines — The Central Visayas Police have scored a huge catch of “shabu” weighing over three kilograms and worth about P25 million in a series of big-time operations against illegal drugs over the weekend.
Police said on Tuesday that 254 drug suspects were arrested in the string of operations. At least 23 of them were in the drug watch list.
Chief Supt. Debold Sinas, Central Visayas Police director, admitted that the police were having a hard time tracking down sources of illegal drugs because of the presence of new players in the region.
But he said the illegal drugs came mostly from Metro Manila through a Ro-Ro.
An investigation showed that cars carrying suspected illegal drugs were being transported on a Ro-Ro bound for Cebu City, he said.
