2 injured in fire that destroyed 45 houses in Quezon City
MANILA, Philippines — Two people were reported injured in a fire that destroyed 45 houses in Barangay Holy Spirit in Quezon City Sunday afternoon.
The fire started at the second floor of a two-storey residential building, owned by a Linell Nemis, at the corner of Samonte and Don Sergio streets in Barangay Holy Spirit, according to the Bureau of Fire Protection.
The fire affected 100 families and caused damage estimated at P450,000.
The blaze left 20-year-old Areen Martinez with third degree burns on her whole body, while Armando Agbayani Delos Reyes suffered laceration on his left knee.
The third alarm on the fire was raised at 1:13 p.m., and it was declared out at 2:14 p.m.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. /atm
