MANILA, Philippines–About P3-million worth of suspected shabu were seized from two drug suspects in an anti-drug operation conducted in Taguig City on Friday evening.
Police identified the suspects as Jayson Esguerra and Rodolf Dejos. The suspects were also newly-identified alleged drug pushers who started in the illegal drug trade in southern part of Metro Manila and Rizal province in 2017.
National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Director Guillermo Eleazar told reporters that an inmate from Manila District Jail in Bicutan, Taguig “orchestrated” the illegal drug transactions.
“Ang nag-orchastrate [at] nagbibigay ng utos para sa paggawa ng transaction ay dati nilang kasamahan na nakakulong sa salang murder na nasa Metro Manila District Jail sa may Bicutan,” Eleazar told reporters.
Authorities from NCPRO Regional Drug Enforcement Unit, Taguig City Police Station and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in the National Capital Region Office conducted the anti-drug operation on ML Quezon Avenue, barangay Hagonoy, at 10:30 p.m.
Seized from the suspects were six pieces of packs containing suspected shabu weighing more or less 525 grams and worth P3,570,000 and 150 pieces of valium 10 or anti-depressant drug worth P12,000.
Police also seized P170,000 of drug money, which was received by the suspects from an undercover agent who posed as a buyer.
The suspects will be charged for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. /jpv
