Azukal’s foe to face media on Wednesday

On Wednesday at 11 a.m., one of the featured boxers in Pinoy Pride X, the undefeated Marcos “Geraldito” Cardenas of Mexico and his trainer, Jesus Edmundo Gaytan, will hold a press conference that will be attended by highly-reputed media personnel from television, radio, and print.

The gathering, set according to the request of Team Cardenas, will happen at the Mooon Café IT Park in Lahug.

Cardenas holds an amazing record of 12 wins with nine KOs, no loss and a draw. He will face Filipino Genesis “Azukal” Servania, who holds a record of 15 wins, the most recent coming by a unanimous decision against hard-hitting Mexican Gerson Guerrero.

Their 10-round match will be a battle of boxing prospects that will happen on Dec. 10, 2011 at the Hoops Dome, Lapu-Lapu City.

The tenth installment of the boxing mega-series is presented by ALA Promotions and ABS-CBN and supported by partner brands Cobra Tunay na Lakas Energy Drink, Summit Natural Drinking Water, SM Super Malls, Kia Motors Cebu, Radisson Blu Hotel, EGI Resort and Hotel, Harold’s Hotel, Meal Time Food Factory, as well as Pacific Mall Mandaue, Maya Mexican Restaurant, Mooon Café and Abaca Resort.

On the same day at 5 p.m., fight fans in SM City Cebu will be treated to a public workout session featuring Mendoza and Cardenas, the two undefeated Mexican boxers bent on proving themselves against their Filipino opponents.

The Servania – Cardenas match is one of the main features in the Pinoy Pride X fight card and is expected by fight fans to be a bout to watch out for as these two prospects will be putting their undefeated records on the line.

Other fights in the card pit Pan Soo Kim vs. Romeo Jakosalem for the OPBF Light Welterweight title, Rocky “The Road Warrior” Fuentes vs. Lookdiaw Tor Buamas, and Rey “Boom Boom” Bautista vs. Miguel Angel Mendoza for the IBF International Featherweight championship. /PR
