Boracay reopened last Oct. 26 following a six-month closure for rehabilitation.
President Rodrigo Duterte earlier called for the closure and clean-up of Boracay after raising concern about the island’s environmental and zoning problems.
Last Nov. 26, a total of 243 accommodation establishments have been accredited by the Department of Tourism after securing permits and clearances from the Department of Interior and Local Government and the DENR. /muf
