3.6 quake hits Ilocos Norte

MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 3.6 earthquake hit the province of Ilocos Norte at 7:58 a.m. Wednesday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.

The epicenter of the tectonic quake was traced 9 kilometers southwest inland portion of Adams, Ilocos Norte, at a depth of 17 kilometers.

Phivolcs did not report any recorded intensities.

No aftershocks and damage are expected from the quake, Phivolcs said. /cbb
