Brother vs brother for Bulacan governor
CITY OF MALOLOS — It’s brother against brother in next year’s Bulacan gubernatorial race, after former Councilor Ronald Theodore “Teddy” Natividad challenged the bid of Mayor Christian Natividad, the candidate of Partido Demokratiko Pilipino–Lakas ng Bayan Teddy replaced Josephine Banawan, candidate of the Lakas-Muslim Christian Democrats.
He and Mayor Natividad are sons of former Rep. Teodulo Natividad, who was also a member of the commission that drafted the 1987 Constitution.
Teddy was an ally of actor and Vice Gov. Daniel Fernando, who is also running for governor under the National Unity Party, with outgoing Gov. Wilhelmino Sy-Alvarado as his running mate.
Former Rep. Joselito Mendoza will run for the third congressional seat after substituting for his wife, Vhioly Mendoza.
In Plaridel town, former mayor Teresita Vistan replaced her daughter, reelectionist Mayor Jocell Vistan, in the mayoral race. —Carmel Reyes Estrope
