Up to two cyclones are expected in the country this December, the weather bureau said Wednesday.

Weather specialist Chris Perez made the forecast as he reported that the low-pressure area (LPA) that used to be Tropical Depression “Tomas” continued to move away from the country.

The LPA was last spotted 1,335 kilometers east-northeast of Basco, Batanes, and would either be out of the PAR or dissipate within the day.

The northeast monsoon affecting Northern and Central Luzon will bring generally fair weather but occasional light rain is also expected.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have fair weather with chances of localized thunderstorms. /cbb
