The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced on Monday that portions of North Avenue would be closed to motorists to give way to the ongoing construction of the Metro Rail Transit (MRT) 7.
MMDA General Manager Jojo Garcia said the road closure would start at 10 p.m. and would last until 5 a.m., Tuesday (November 27).
The closure would affect Agham Road up to the westbound section of Quezon Memorial Circle.
“This is to pave the way for the removal of old electrical posts affected by the construction of the MRT-7,” Garcia said in a press briefing.
Garcia advised the public to avoid the said areas to prevent from getting stuck in traffic.
The MRT-7 project involves the construction of a 23-kilometer railway system with 14 stations starting from North Avenue in Quezon City to San Jose Del Monte in Bulacan.
The project is part of the “Build, Build, Build” program of the government. /ee
