126 families affected by fire in Taguig City

Some 126 families were affected by a fire that razed 87 houses in Taguig City on Friday, the Bureau of Fire Protection in Taguig said.

Fire Inspector Miguel Estilles, operations chief of BFP Taguig, said the fire broke out at 11:58 a.m. at the second floor of a two-story house owned by a certain Melly Ogana in Sitio Butas, Barangay Bagumbayan.

The fire reached second alarm at 12:33 p.m. and was declared out at 3:30 p.m.

Estilles said no person was injured in the blaze.

He added that the houses were mostly made of light materials like wood, the reason the fire spread rapidly.

As of posting time, the BFP was still determining the cause of the fire and the estimate damage to property.
