Senator Grace Poe hailed on Thursday the dialogue between the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and ABS-CBN executives over controversies hounding the television series “Ang Probinsyano.”

The two parties held a dialogue on Wednesday at the national headquarters of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Quezon City after PNP chief Director General Oscar Albayalde and Interior Secretary Eduardo Año hit the series for supposedly portraying the police in a bad light.

“We welcome the amicable resolution between DILG and ABS-CBN over the teleserye ‘Ang Probinsyano,’” Poe said in a statement. Poe is the daughter of actor Fernando Poe Jr. who first popularized the show which now stars Coco Martin.

Earlier, Poe said the PNP should look at the bigger picture of the show’s plot.

“As always, a fruitful conclusion can only be achieved with objective dialogue, mutual respect, and recognition of each other’s rights,” she said.

“Happy endings such as this redound to the benefit of the public, who can continually watch relevant and inspiring shows,” she also said.
