Senate suspends work on Tuesday due to road closures

The Senate suspended its session and work on Tuesday due to road closures.

“Yes. All roads closed,” Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto said when asked in a text message on Monday if work at the Senate will be suspended.

Several roads in Manila will be closed for the two-day (Nov.20 and 21) state visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Some hearings set for Tuesday were also canceled as resource persons could not make it to the Senate due to the closed roads.

The regular session of the chamber will resume on Wednesday.

Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri said the Senate also need to suspend its session because the leadership “needs to be at the Palace early for the State Dinner.” /ee
